ReeR presents SafeReady a new generation of safety light curtains for modern automation

ReeR Safety expands its portfolio with SafeReady, a new family of safety light curtains developed to address the evolving requirements of modern industrial automation. Designed for highly automated, compact and reconfigurable systems, SafeReady combines top-level operator protection with simplified integration, configuration and diagnostics. The objective is to raise safety standards while reducing the complexity traditionally associated with advanced safety devices.

SafeReady is Type 4 – PL e certified, the highest level required by international safety standards, and delivers reliable performance even in harsh industrial environments. The compact yet robust powder-coated aluminium housing ensures resistance to shock and vibration in accordance with CEI EN 60068. With IP65 and IP67 protection ratings and an operating temperature range from –30 °C to +55 °C, SafeReady is suitable for demanding applications, including refrigerated environments.

No compromise between safety and operability

One of the key differentiating factors of SafeReady is the complete absence of dead zones on both sides of the light curtain. Continuous protection across the entire detection field eliminates unmonitored areas close to the profile, allowing machine designers to avoid additional mechanical guards, increased safety distances or layout compromises, an increasingly critical aspect in compact automation cells.

Advanced fixed and floating blanking functions allow the protection concept to adapt to dynamic processes without reducing safety levels. Fixed blanking enables selected beams to be excluded permanently to allow the controlled passage of materials or tools, while floating blanking dynamically follows moving objects within the protected area. This approach is particularly effective in presses, bending machines and automated lines, where productivity and safety must coexist without mutual interference.

A complete range for every application

The SafeReady family has been developed to cover a wide range of application needs through three distinct versions. The Basic model, with automatic restart, is intended for essential safety applications. The Standard version integrates additional safety functions, including manual or automatic Start/Restart and EDM. The Plus version represents the most advanced configuration, offering integrated safety functions that can be set and managed via a Bluetooth App, including fixed and floating blanking.

In terms of protection capabilities, SafeReady offers resolutions suitable for every requirement, from finger detection at 14 mm to hand protection between 20 and 40 mm, up to body detection from 50 to 90 mm. Configurations with 2 – 3 – 4 beams are also available for access control applications. Protected heights reach up to 2 metres, with operating distances up to 18 metres, covering both short-range and long-range installations.

Designed to integrate, built to last

SafeReady has been engineered with system integration and long-term reliability in mind. Cables are easily accessible, replaceable and can be oriented in multiple directions, simplifying installation and maintenance activities. The integrated multicolour status lamp, together with dedicated diagnostic LEDs, provides immediate feedback on operating conditions and supports faster troubleshooting. Typical applications include presses and bending machines, robotic and collaborative cells, assembly stations, cutting machines and automated production lines. Thanks to its flexibility and compact design, SafeReady is also suitable for automated car parks and systems with frequently changing layouts.

SafeReady ensures true protection across the full detection area, with no dead zones along the barrier profile. This characteristic enables more compact machine designs while maintaining high safety levels, a decisive advantage in robotic cells and space-constrained automation systems.

Fixed and floating blanking: adaptive safety for dynamic processes

The integrated blanking functions allow SafeReady to adapt to process dynamics without compromising operator protection. By reducing unnecessary machine stops and limiting the temptation to bypass safety functions, these features contribute directly to higher productivity and improved overall system reliability.

Smart configuration via Bluetooth

With SafeReady Plus, ReeR brings industrial safety into the era of connectivity. Configuration and diagnostics can be performed wirelessly via a dedicated Bluetooth App, which provides access to identification data, beam status, operating modes, LED indications and safety function settings. Alignment between emitter and receiver is supported by four high-brightness front LEDs, also visible through the App, significantly reducing installation and setup times.

Immediate status visibility and simplified alignment

Multicolour LEDs and an integrated alignment aid system provide clear and immediate information on the operating status of the device. For operators and maintenance personnel, this translates into faster interventions and reduced machine downtime. On Plus models, the same information can be accessed remotely via smartphone or tablet, further simplifying system management.
