Mr. Sunil Misra has been appointed as the new Director General of IEEMA. Mr. Misra comes to IEEMA with a rich work experience of around 30 years, having worked in similar organisations for last 20 years. IEEMA is the apex industry association representing the Indian electrical, industrial electronics and allied equipment industry with over 800 members with a combined annual turnover of over $25 billion.
On his appointment as the Director General of IEEMA, Mr. Misra said, “I am proud to be a part of IEEMA. IEEMA is a 66 year old body representing the over INR 1.30 lakh crore Indian electrical equipment manufacturing industry which provides direct and indirect employment to over 1.5 million people. IEEMA is one of the most prominent industry associations of the country and is playing an important role in nation building. I am delighted to be a part of the efforts IEEMA is undertaking for enhancing the global competitiveness of the industry and I hope I will help them in their mission.”
A graduate from Canning College, University of Lucknow, Misra before joining IEEMA, was working as Head of Public Policy in CII. In CII, he has served as Head of UP State office and Madhya Pradesh State office. He established the East Asia Office of CII at Shanghai and was the Chief Representative of China office. He has also served as Regional Director, Eastern Region at Kolkata responsible for CII operations in the States of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar and West Bengal.
As the IEEMA Director General, Mr. Misra will represent IEEMA in various government and industry led forums on policy, growth, economy, trade, commerce, research & development related issues relevant for the overall growth of the Indian electrical equipment industry. Mr. Sunil Misra has keen interests in reading, travelling and is always in pursuits of new things.
